Do not use the eGFR for dose calculations of renally excreted drugs, it has not be validated for this use.
Use Cockcroft and Gault equation (Calculator is available on the NSH Intranet - here.
The eGFR result may deviate from the true value in extremes of body composition , age or dietary intake,
or where there is rapid changing renal function.
